As one of my final doings at Yale University, I have embarked on a recording research project to discern what recording outcomes can be derived while recording the tuba with regards to microphone types, brand, placement, surface reflection, and room acoustics. This project has been made possible by the generous support of Shure, AEA Ribbon Microphones, and The Yale School of Music. Overseeing all recording aspects of this project will be my friend, colleague, and Yale School of Music sound engineer Benjamin Schwartz.
